The summer holidays may be in full swing but there is plenty to look forward to in the autumn months at the Whitehall Theatre in Dundee.

First up is the Dundee Schools’ Youth Music Theatre which will present ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’ which will run from August 27 to August 30 at 7.30 p.m. nightly.

This amateur youth production, by arrangement with The Really Useful Theatre Company, promises to be a night out for all the family and a show not to be missed.

Next up on Saturday, September 6 is a concert with Mary Duff at 7.30 p.m. Mary makes a welcome return to the theatre with her own show of country, Irish and popular music.

She will have her own band with her and her special guest will be Ray Murtagh, an excellent singer who specialises in popular American country music.

The music continues on Saturday, September 13 with the ‘Counterfeit Sixties Show’ at 7.30 p.m.

A night of pure sixties magic comes to The Whitehall Theatre as The Counterfeit Sixties bring their tribute show to the area. The band, which has been touring for many years both here and abroad, make a first time visit to Dundee as part of their 2014 theatre tour.

They have received rave reviews around the country for their accurate portrayal of many sixties bands, coupled together with their unique lighting show and video footage of the era. This makes it one of the best sixties shows around.

After his very successful tour last September, Mike Denver returns to Scotland with his highly entertaining show on Thursday, September 18 at 7.30 p.m.

Known as ‘The Galway Boy’, Mike is a huge name in Ireland and draws big crowds wherever he goes.

This likable and down to earth young man gives a superb show of country and Irish songs and a lot more. Many of the people attending his shows last year said he was so good they could have sat through it again.

His latest album is entitled “There Is Only One Mike Denver” so go along to one his shows to see for yourself.

The special guest on the show will be the young singer “Caitlin’ who has made many friends in Scotland with her T.V. appearances singing songs like ‘Heaven Won’t Be Heaven’, ‘Walking On The Moon’, and ‘Flower of Scotland.

Entertainment of a different kind is on offer with Acari the hypnotist on Saturday, September 27 at 7.30 p.m.

Acari brings his comedy hypnotic stage show back to Dundee by public demand. He’ll have you in hysterics and whilst this is a family show members of the audience wishing to take part must be 18 years and over.

Past shows have seen the volunteers believe they were Michael Jackson, Madonna, Freddie Mercury, Lady Gaga, or even members of the Spice Girls!

Acari is without doubt one of the top artists in the field of hypnosis. He never embarrasses or degrades any member of the public.

If you have never seen Acari preform before then don’t miss out on this opportunity – it’s a hoot from start to finish.
