Police cheques benefits local charities

Several local charities in the Tayside area were presented with cheques by Deputy Chief Constable Gordon Scobbie.

The donations were awarded on behalf of Tayside Police Benevolent Fund, at Tayside Police Headquarters, Dundee last Tuesday.

Spectrum Dundee, Alternatives (Dundee Crisis Pregnancy Trust) and the Dundee and Angus Branch of Parkinson’s UK were given cheques for £500.

Shopmobility Dundee was presented with a cheque for £250.

Asthma Relief, also attended the event, having already received their cheque for £500 which had been used to purchase nebulisers.

Deputy Chief Constable Scobbie said: “It is a pleasure to be presenting these cheques to local charities on behalf of the Tayside Police Benevolent Fund.

“This contribution seeks to recognise the great work that is achieved by all those involved and to hopefully provide some much-needed funding toward their causes.”
