Angus MP Mike Weir has joined the campaign to vote for Bob, run by the RSPB and other organisations interested in nature and wildlife.

Commenting on the campaign, Mr Weir said: “The campaign remind us all of the importance of natural places and native flora and fauna, to everyone and the need to do what we can to protect it. We must always remember this when we make decisions.

“Bob, a native Red Squirrel, is a very appropriate symbol for the campaign.

“That is especially true in Angus which is one of the few areas in the UK that still has a wild population of these beautiful animals.

“Indeed I have had visits from them into my own garden, although I am not sure if it was Bob himself keeping an eye on what I was doing!”
