Council to Review Polling District and Polling Places

Angus Council is to carry out a statutory review of polling districts and polling places within the council area, and is seeking views of the public as part of the review process.

The Council would particularly welcome the views of anyone with expertise in access to premises or facilities for persons with a disability.

Local authorities are required to carry out such a review to ensure that electors have such reasonable facilities for voting as are practicable and that these facilities are accessible to electors who are disabled.

The existing polling scheme, draft proposals and Returning Officer’s comments on these proposals will be available for inspection at Angus House, Orchardbank Business Park, Forfar; public libraries and ACCESS Offices.

Details of the review can also be found on the Angus Council website

Comments and representations may be made in writing by email: or by post: Head of Legal and Democratic Services, Resources Directorate, Angus Council, Angus House, Orchardbank Business Park, Forfar, DD8 1AN.

The closing date is 5 p.m. on November 15, with final proposals submitted to Angus Council on December 12.

The outcome of the review will be published by December 31.
