Community, arts, cultural and sports groups and schools planning to mark the 2014 Commonwealth Games could benefit from grants of up to £10,000 to support new and existing events and activities that mark the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The Celebrate Fund is a national fund which aims to encourage communities to come together to hold arts, heritage, sports and local community celebrations of the 2014 Commonwealth Games and work together to celebrate the diversity of the Commonwealth and create a legacy of community.
Chair of the Angus Games Steering Group, Councillor Jeanette Gaul said: “In addition to being a host venue for next year’s Games, I’m pleased that local businesses and groups will also have a unique opportunity to celebrate our relationship with the Commonwealth. ”
Angus Council is holding three awareness sessions in Angus and inviting various groups and schools to come along and discuss how they could get involved.
The awareness sessions will take place at the following times and locations:-
Monday, June 17, Montrose Sports Centre from 6.30 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday, June 18, Reid Hall, Forfar from 6.30 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday, June 25, Saltire Leisure Centre, Arbroath from 6.30 to 8 p.m.
