VOTERS in Angus North & Mearns will have four candidates from which to choose their new representative in the Scottish Parliament when they go to the polls on Thursday, May 5.

When nominations closed last week nominations were received from the following candidates.

Nigel Don (Scottish national Party), Kevin Hutchens (Scottish Labour Party),Alex Johnstone (Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party) and Sanjay Samani (Scottish Liberal Democrats).

In the run-up to the elections to the Scottish Parliament on Thursday, May 5 the “Brechin Advertiser” will, in addition to our general coverage, give each of the candidates standing in this area a one-off opportunity to address the electorate through our columns on Thursday, April 28.

All candidates in the Angus North and Mearns constituency who wish to take up this opportunity should submit to us a statement of no more than 300 words together with a photograph by close of play on Thursday, April 21.
