Four Members of The City of Brechin and Distrct Community Council met with Angus Council officers last week to discuss their concerns about the proposals for the new community campus in Brechin and have come out of the meeting having got some reassurances over the plans.
At the meeting, which lasted almost two-and-a-half hours, the community council members sought information on the following issues: Clarification on the term “community owned and managed service centre”; Access route to and from the site; Public transport to and from the new campus; Proposed Community Sports hub; and Possible closure of existing council owned facilities.
Convenor of the group Grahame Lockhart said: “We had a very productive meeting with officers and we felt that they were very open with us and receptive to continuing discussions and we will explain further next week to members of the public just exactly what was said.
“One disappointment was that they did not have any officer from neighbourhood services- the department that would be able to give us many of our answers - and there will be many issues that will need to be addressed with that department in due course.”
