Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has thanked the public for their support of the Radio Tay FM Mission Christmas Appeal.

Stations in Angus, Dundee and Perth and Kinross joined in the appeal by becoming available as drop off points for gifts.

Retained stations were also advertised as being open for the duration of their training nights.

Local Senior Officer for Dundee, Angus, Perth and Kinross Colin Grieve said: “Thank you to all who accepted presents on behalf of the charity. Our efforts have been greatly appreciated by the Mission Christmas Team. A special mention must be made to thank everybody at Montrose Fire Station who kindly made a significant donation of presents rather than sending Christmas cards this year.

“In total we collected around 250 presents including those collected by a Dundee motorcycling club. We have also participated in the transportation of donations from local drop off points to the main distribution point in Dundee. Support staff kindly collected presents from the Montrose and Forfar drop off points.”
