Angus North & Mearns SNP MSP Nigel Don met with higher modern studies pupils from Brechin High School on their recent trip to the Scottish Parliament.

Nigel also met with the modern studies class and their teacher, Mrs Perkins, the previous week and on both occasions discussed his work as an MSP and took questions from the pupils.

Commenting Mr Don said; “I had met with the class the previous week in Brechin and it was great to see them make it down to the Parliament to get an insight into how things operate here.

“I hope they had an enjoyable and informative visit and I look forward to welcoming future classes to the Parliament.

“As this was Mrs Perkins last trip before retirement I would like to thank her for organising the visits to the Parliament and wish her all the best for the future.”

Brechin High head teacher Steve Dempsey added: “A group of senior pupils recently travelled to Edinburgh to visit the Scottish Parliament with their modern studies teacher, Mrs Perkins.

“This allowed them to see the chamber and gain an insight as to how the parliament operates.

“It was also the last group that Mrs Perkins will take to the parliament as she will be retiring at the end of October. We wish her good health and happiness for the future.

“She has made a significant contribution to the learning experiences of young people in her role as a teacher of modern studies.

“Nigel Don also had the opportunity recently to visit Brechin High School and engage with the same group of senior pupils to talk about his work as an MSP and answer questions.”
