Quality award finalists announced

The finalists for the NHS Tayside Quality Awards 2013, which recognises ideas for improving care and treatment, have been announced.

Eleven projects from across Tayside have made it to the finals as they best demonstrated a focus on person-centredness, effectiveness and safety, reflected consideration of best value and demonstrated how to sustain improvements and roll out these improvements to more patients.

The 11 finalists are Immediate Discharge Service; Tayside Forensic Occupational Therapy Service; Renal Replacement Therapy; Partnership Working in Support Services at Arbroath Infirmary; Plasma Exchange in Tayside; Reducing medication dependence in lower respiratory tract infections; HIV Prevention and Sexual Health Improvement: Men Only Tayside; Promoting exercise in the community after stroke; Development of Net Formulary for NHS Tayside; A Young Voice with a Big Story – working with young carers in Perth and Kinross; Sleepknit Bedding System Implementation Programme.

The finalists are now busy designing a poster and producing a short video to showcase their projects at the awards ceremony which will be hosted by Alison and NHS Tayside Chairman Sandy Watson in Ninewells Hospital on Thursday, December 5.
