Shop refit results in increased footfall

Since the Dalhousie Centre shop re-opened in its new format the volunteers have welcomed the donations of all sorts of items from the community and have seen an increase in the footfall through the door.

To celebrate this success, Betty Hendry and her team of volunteers are continuing their special offers, including 50 per cent off specials, over the next few months. Notices will be put up in the window and, whenever possible they will let you know through The Brechiner.

Unfortunately the shop lost two of the volunteers recently. Nan McKenzie and Marion Middleton both served the shop and the Dalhousie Centre very faithfully over the years and they will be sorely missed.

Board member Janet Penman commented: “I have been privileged to know both ladies and would like to pay tribute to them on behalf of the Dalhousie Centre.

“They, like all our volunteers, gave unstintingly of their time to support our local community and the older people who are supported by the Dalhousie Centre. On behalf of the board I would like to acknowledge their valuable service and offer most sincere condolences to their families at this time.”
