Bearehill Care Home held its first ever shopping night on Thursday, May 2, with the evening turning out to be a huge success.
Staff at the Castle Street care home, which is run by Four Season Health Care, were delighted by the great turn out by the local community.
Businesses from the local area and from further afield were invited to buy a table for the event in order to showcase their goods, allowing the local community have a unique shopping experience on their doorstep.
The tables at the event included Eclipse Hair and Beauty, The Body Shop, Pampered Chef, My Handbag Heaven and Not Just For Kids.
In addition to those, there was also Bearehill Cake and Candy and tarot cards.
Shoppers were also provided with cheese and wine and a raffle.
The evening was very much a community effort with many providing services or goods to support the cause - such as the Damacre Community Centre, Brechin Castle Centre and The Cooperative to name but a few.
The evening was held in aid of the residents Comfort Fund and raised an amazing £503.
Sarah Brown, Activity Coordinator said: “Staff at Bearehill were overwhelmed by the amount raised and we wanted to thank the local community for supporting Bearehill in this way.” She continued: “The Comfort Fund is important for ensuring all residents have varied and enjoyable experiences whilst living at Bearehill.”
Bearehill staff are hoping to hold another shopping night later in the year and a family fun day in the summer should the weather permit.
