Guide Dogs Scotland is seeking volunteers from Angus to help people with sight loss get out into the local community.

The charity’s My Guide service matches a person who is blind or partially sighted with a trained volunteer.

Rosalind Wallace, My Guide Ambassador, explained: “We’re looking to recruit volunteers to assist people with sight loss in and around Angus.”

“My Guide volunteers spend a couple of hours each week helping someone with sight loss to get out and about, and we will provide all the training they need.

“Volunteers work with their My Guide partner to set goals that increase their ability to get out and about, or take part in social and leisure activities such as shopping, walking or a local coffee group.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to gain skills and experience supporting someone who is blind or partially sighted and it’s also really rewarding.

“We would love to hear from anyone in the area who is interested in becoming a My Guide volunteer.”
