Angus Autumn Adventures is a brand new event which gives you the chance to try something new in the great outdoors.

Activity providers from all over the area have put together an exciting weekend programme which offers taster sessions of a variety of activities, all at discounted rates.

The event, which takes place on Saturday, September 1 and Sunday, September 2 is proving to be popular. Places are still available though, so book now to avoid disappointment.

There is something to suit all ages and interests, from high adrenalin water sports to nature walks for children, and wildlife photography.

Mike McLaggan, Chair of the Outdoor Angus group, which is working in partnership with Angus Council’s Economic Development Unit to organise the event, explains more about some of the activities on offer: “Coasteering is a fun and interesting challenge. Participants navigate their way along sections of the shoreline, using a combination of swimming, scrambling, rock climbing and jumping. It might sound a bit daunting, but it is a very exciting experience that even children over the age of 12 can take part in.

“Gorge walking is a fantastic chance to get wet, slide down flumes and explore an atmospheric gorge safely. This is a great family activity for adults and children over 10. All wetsuits and safety gear is provided – you just have to be able to swim.”

If you are looking for something a bit more slow-paced, then what about a birdwatching wildlife walk? Join Caledonian Adventures on an afternoon trying to spot two of Scotland’s most majestic birds of prey the white tailed sea eagle and the golden eagle. You will be shown a range of flora and fauna throughout the afternoon gaining an insight into the natural history of Angus from an experienced and knowledgeable guide. These are just a few examples of what is on offer.
