Angus Council Sports Development Team is calling on the local community to join in celebrating Angus’ sporting stars at their annual ceremony.

The Angus Sports Awards 2014 in association with Angus Ahead is taking place at the Reid Hall, Forfar on March 12.

Nominations this year have seen a record breaking 105 nominees across eight categories. Tickets are now available and will be issued on a first come first served basis. Tickets are £12; this includes a three course dinner and the awards ceremony.

Bob Christie and Derek Mitchell have been short listed for School Sport Volunteer of the Year for the their work with Maisondieu and Andover Primary Schools and Brechin Schools respectively.

The Angus Sports Awards 2014 selection panel will meet to finalise short lists and winners for each award category and these will be announced at the awards ceremony. All nominees and nominators have been invited to attend the ceremony that is hosted and broadcast by Radio Tay.
