Sports Hub to hold AGM at Damacre

Brechin Community Sports Hub will hold its second annual general meeting on Wednesday, September 16, at the Damacre Centre.

The hub was established in 2013 by the Brechin Pirates Junior Rugby, Brechin Buccaneers Cricket Club, Parkview Bowling Club and Brechin City Youths FC and took the decision to constitute themselves in 2014.

The hub sets out aims and objectives in a yearly action plan and some of those include: providing a safe and fun environment for all the community, work closely with local partners to provide positive experiences for all and help support the development of clubs and community organisations in Brechin.

The hub involves all community groups, not just solely sports clubs or organisations

The member clubs involved within the hub would welcome any other community organisations / groups to join them and help achieve their aims.

The hub also works closely with Angus Council and clubs are members of the Angus Council Excellence award scheme.

This is not necessary to be part of the hub, however, it is hoped that all groups would strive to be part of this to help ensure all clubs are providing a safe and fun environment.

A spokesperson for the hub said: “If you are interested in joining the hub or finding out more information about the hub please feel free to come along to the annual general meeting where all members will be present to give their own experiences and gain additional information about the hub.

“We look forward to seeing you on September 16.”

The meeting will take place at the Damacre Centre from 7pm.
