The Scottish SPCA is inviting animal lovers to join them in a sponsored Pokémon dog walk being held on Sunday, October 16.

Staff at the charity’s animal rescue and rehoming centre in Petterden are inviting people to come along and enjoy a fun afternoon out at Camperdown Wildlife Park, while helping raise funds to enable the SSPCA to continue its work rescuing and rehoming thousands of unwanted and abandoned animals across Scotland.

Assistant Centre Manager Dale Christie said: “We’re calling on all animal lovers in the area to join us in our sponsored walk. Staff members are giving up their spare time to join Myrtle, Pokémon Squirtle’s cousin, to assist in catching Pokémon on the day.

“The walk will be kicking off at the Camperdown Park’s entrance at 12pm, before stopping at six Pokémon stops. We’ll be finishing off at Camperdown Wildlife Park, where free admission will be granted to all.

“People are very welcome to bring their canine companions along, however dogs are not allowed inside the wildlife centre.

“Owners, dogs, friends, family members, enthusiastic walkers and Pokémon fans alike are all very welcome to come along, enjoy the walk and in the process help us raise money to rescue and rehome thousands of injured, unwanted and abandoned animals.”
