The Burn House in Glenesk and Brechin Rotary Club welcomed students from South Africa on Saturday.
An elite group of hand picked students from South Africa, sponsored by the Abe Bailey Trust, have been visiting places of historical and cultural importance during a three-week stay in the UK.
The culmination of their trip has been their four-day stay at the Burn House in Glenesk under the supervision of the Burn House’s new Bursar David Turner.
While here, the students were given a taste of Scottish culture including a visit to Forfar Ice Rink for an introduction to curling.
The task of passing on the finer points of the roaring game fell to Brechin’s Rotarians, with the students subsequently treating their hosts to a feast of impromptu musical entertainment.
A Rotary spokesman told us: “It was a wonderful evening and our guests from South Africa were marvellous ambassadors for their country”.
