Dundee and Angus College has two new Scottish Champions among its student ranks, with Ravi Sangeelee and Stephanie Strachan both taking gold at the Scottish Disability Sport Track and Field Athletics Championships.
Having beaten off the opposition at the George Duncan Athletics Arena in Perth, the duo were showing off their medals at the Arbroath Campus on Monday, September 14.
While Ravi and Stephanie scooped gold in the 100m, their classmates from the supported education team also gave a great account of themselves. Stephanie also took bronze in the F13 standing long jump. Graham Rosie won a silver medal in the standing long jump and bronze in the 100m, while John Roy of Dundee, grasped bronze in the in T60 800m, just on the finish line in a nail-biting final. Mikael Johannesson (Dundee) gave a great account of himself facing really tough competition in softball, while Kirstin Weir (Brechin) missed out on a bronze medal by the tiniest of margins.
Ravee, Stephanie, Graham, Mikael and Kirsten qualified after their individual performances at the Tayside event in May; John qualified through his involvement with Dundee Hawkhill Harriers.
