A local Brechin business has had it’s quality work recognised after they became certified members of The Guild Of Master Craftsmen.
ELD Roofying, which is run by Eric Dalgarno, received a letter stating that he had been recommended by customers to The Guild.
Not only has he received a letter of invitation to join the guild, he has also received a certificate that acknowledged the quality and service his business provides.
The arrival of the certificate and the invitation to become a Guild member was a bolt out of the blue for Eric, who did not even realise he had been put forward for the award.
Although he has run his own business for the past eight years, Eric has worked in the roofing trade throughout his entire working career.
Speaking about the award, Eric commented: “I didn’t know anything about it until the paperwork came though.
“A couple of customers recommended me and I got a letter to join.
“As far as I am aware I am the only one in Scotland this year to receive a certificate from the Guild for roofing.
“It’s good to get recognition. I went in to business to give customers piece of mind, not just to do a job and get paid for it.
“I would just like to say thank you to who ever it was that recommended me.”
The Guild of Master Craftsmen use their mark to signify reliable trade businesses to the public.
Membership is only available to those who can demonstrate that they consistently achieve high standards and are therefore eligible to receive The Guild’s prestigious Certificate of Quality and Service.
The membership is permanent, based on a annual membership fee.
His wife Carol, who helps in the running of the business, added: “It’s not easy for a business to survive in this climate, and we’ve been lucky that our clientèle keeps building.
“We’d really like to thank everyone for their custom. We’re proud to be given this award.
“We’d also like to thank the Guild for accepting us as members.
“Eric has put in a lot of hard work to build up the business. It’s nice for him to get some recognition.”
