THE public consultation on plans for a 90-hectare quarry near Edzell is set to come to an end.
January 6 is the closing date for feedback.
D.Geddes (Contractors) Limited of Arbroath have submitted a formal planning application to Angus Council for the development of land to the south-east of Edzell Wood.
The proposal is to work the site over a 35-year period, which will “a continuity of employment and supply of material.”
As the next meeting of Inveresk Community Council comes shortly after the closing date for feedback members have informed Angus Council that they wish to make comment on the application.
They have asked the local authority to allow them to send in comments after the January 6 deadline. This is to allow members to discuss the quarry proposal at the meeting on Monday, January 9 in Inglis Memorial Hall, and submit feedback to the council.
