The new chief executive of one of the UK’s leading children’s charities, Children 1st, is Brechiner Alison Todd who took over the role earlier this week.
Speaking to the Brechin Advertiser the day before she officially stepped into the post Alison spoke of her hopes and ambitions for her new position.
Talking at her home just outside Brechin, Alison, who took over the reins of the charity on Tuesday (July 1), spoke of her passion for and commitment to the charity and the role it plays nationwide in protecting our vulnerable young people.
The former Andover Primary and Brechin High School pupil told us she was delighted to have been given the job and although she was aware she was taking over a very big role she felt confident she was the right person for the job.
“I am aware this is a big and challenging role and a very prominent position and I sometimes wonder how I got here, but I am feeling very confident about undertaking the work ahead,” said Alison.
For the past five years Alison has been the charity’s director of children and family services. In December last year it was announced she would take over the top post this summer.
