Motorists are advised that cold conditions and heavy snow showers are forecast overnight and into tomorrow morning.
BEAR Scotland, which manages and maintains the 1800km of trunk roads in the East of Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland, is out treating all routes this afternoon and will undertake further treatments this evening and in the early hours of tomorrow morning. A BEAR Scotland spokesperson said: “In addition to our planned treatments winter maintenance vehicles will be out patrolling and treating as necessary throughout the night and into tomorrow morning. Additional resources will be in operation around the network to deal with the expected snowfall.
“Motorists are urged to take heed of conditions and to use the Traffic Scotland website or Transport Scotland’s Customer Care Line to check road conditions and public transport alternatives. Road users asked to be prepared to encounter some difficult conditions and allow more time for journeys, particularly tomorrow morning.”
