The first two phases of Angus Council’s £1.7 million route action plan to improve the A935 road between Brechin and Montrose are now complete.
The first phase of the bend re-alignments at West Broomley was completed by W. Brown Roadworks Limited in May.
The second phase of work, at Balwyllo, was completed last week by Delson Contracts Limited.
Land negotiations are currently ongoing with the National Trust for Scotland to enable the council to carry out the third and final phase of the works, the realignment of the double bends at Mill of Dun.
This work is scheduled to start during the current financial year subject to successful completion of those negotiations.
As a further improvement to the A935, the footpath which runs from Mains of Dun to Montrose on the north side of the A935 will be changed to a shared use footway/cycleway.
This work is programmed to be carried out in August, now that the works at Balwyllo are complete.
