South side of Montrose Street to see more parking restrictions?

Brechin’s Montrose Road could see ‘no waiting at any time’ restrictions being put in place along the south side of the street.

In his report to Angus Council’s infrastructure services committee which met on January 22, as the Brechin Advertiser went to print, to discuss the matter, director Eric Lowson said: “[The] A935 Montrose – Brechin Road is a designated route for abnormal loads between Montrose and the A90 Trunk Road.

“Tayside Police had indicted that some difficulties have been encountered with such loads at times due to parking on both sides of a narrow section of Montrose Street.

“The matter was subsequently considered at Angus Traffic Co-ordination Group meetings and site meetings were held with the roads division and police officers. As a result the group agreed that the provision of infill ‘no waiting at any time‘ restrictions on the south side of the street are considered appropriate to facilitate free traffic flow for large vehicles.”
