Well, a busy week last week with my brother in town and getting ready for the children’s club this week, so my brain is in a whirl of thoughts and as mixed up as they are who knows where we go.
I must say what a great effort by all in the BRAVO group putting on the Harley Davidson in the City Event. I know there will be pictures everywhere this week. Job well done! Brechin was absolutely heaving with people - wow!
Then add to it the Brechin City FC preseason is getting underway and we are a happening place. Oh and before I get in trouble with my friends at the Vics, they are getting sorted as well.
For a City that many are trying to relegate to the back burners seems there is still a lot of life left and ‘Rumours of our demise are greatly exaggerated.’
But all these activities, as I said, have my head in a muddle and trying to get my thoughts together has been a lot of work, so that smoke you see coming out my lugs is just the gears grinding a bit more than usual.
I’d not say life is such at the moment that I really need the thoughts of John 14 where Jesus told his disciples: “let not your hearts be troubled...”
I think it is more the Romans 15:13 thought: “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Then add in 2 Thessalonians 3:16: “Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.”
What’s needed at these busy times it is more knowing that God has that peace to help one get through the day, and then the next and the next.
Psalm 29:11 - “The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace” - is perhaps a good place to leave this thought, just resting in God’s peace for all of us to help us day by day.
May you know blessing in busy times.
