Edzell Drama Group is busying preparing for its annual autumn production, which will take place on November 27 and 28.
Rehearsals are well underway, with the cast set to perform two plays, ‘The House in the Woods’ written by the Group’s own Sheena Weitzel and ‘The Big Event’ by Horry Parsons.
A spokesperson for the group explained: “The Big Event is set in the library of Anchester-Le-Hope, where the refurbishment programme isn’t exactly going to plan.
“Events are being planned to mark the 400th anniversary of a visit by the first Queen Elizabeth and there are hopes of another royal occasion, but the various characters in the script seem ill prepared!
“The House in the Woods features well known pantomime personalities. Abby Farquhar plays Goldilocks. Andy Turnbull is Captain Hook, once of the US Navy and stationed at RAF Edzell. Anne Newsome is Snow White and the play is set in the house where she lives with the seven dwarfs. Sian-Amy Wibberley plays Mildred Hood, Little Red Riding Hood to her friends. Mildred’s brother Robin also makes an appearance, along with Prince Charming, Dick Whittington and Cinderella.”
The performances will take place in Edzell’s Inglis Hall, with curtain up at 7.30 pm on both Friday, November 27 and Saturday, November 28.
Tickets will be available shortly from No.63 or the Spar, both in the village High Street.
The tickets are priced at £7 for adults (inclusive of a glass of wine) and £4 for children (with a glass of juice). Small eats are also included in the entry charge.
