A charity walk to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of a Brechin woman got under way on September 8.

The DD Daunder, undertaken as a dedication to Lesley Thompson, is a 220-mile walk across Scotland.

Lesley’s husband, Richard, and her two sons-in-law, Steve Collins and Gerry MacAllister, are doing the whole walk, which will see the trio go from Dunnottar Castle at Stonehaven to Dunvagen Castle on Skye.

During their journey, they will be joined by family and friends – some as walkers and others driving support vehicles.

The first stage of the challenge saw 11 walkers cover a total of 15 miles as they followed a route which took them from Dunnottar Castle to Auchenblae.
