A Brechin family has remembered a brave wife and mother in law by completing a 240-mile sponsored walk.
The walk, from Dunnottar Castle in Stonehaven to Dunvegan Castle on Skye, raised money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
And the effort, undertaken by her husband Richard and sons-in-law Gerry MacAllister and Steve Collins, was in memory of Brechin woman Lesley Thomson, who lost her battle with the disease.
The trio started their walk on September 8 and completed it on Saturday. They were welcomed at the castle by pipers, and the gates were opened to allow them to walk up the driveway to the castle.
Richard said: “To date, we have raised a total of £2,370. Special mention should be made for our support team - my two daughters Jenny Collins and Viki MacAllister, and to Graham Gathercole and Alison Cameron. We would also like to thank our sponsors Collie Dog Campervans, Crofts Veterinary Centre, Brechin, and to the numerous individuals and businesses across Scotland who supported and encouraged us along the way.
“Thanks should also be given to MacLeod Estates at Dunvegan who made us feel very welcome at Dunvegan.”
