WEBSTER'S HIGH SCHOOL NOTES, NOVEMBER 19, 2009
Talent Show: This is one of the big events in the school year. The 2009 show is this Thursday, (November 17).
Organised by the social events prefects, the show will have a spooky theme but it will still include the regular teachers' and 6th year acts.
Auditions took place back in the summer and a panel of seniors decided on the acts they deemed to be the most entertaining and suitable.
Tickets for the talent show were on sale in the school last week and were snapped up quickly by excited pupils.
Although it is not primarily a fund-raising event, there will also be a raffle during the show to raise funds for the school.
The show will be judged by a panel which will include Jim Walker (the producer of the Kirrie Panto), a member of the local band Sonnet65 and a member of a band from Dundee.
The winner and runners-up will be awarded prizes on the night and their names will be announced in the paper next week.
Remembrance: On Sunday, November 8 the Rector and school captains attended the remembrance service in the Square at Kirriemuir and thereafter in the Old Parish Church.
On the 11th Mr Pond and the Reverend Malcolm Rooney led a service in the school for S6 pupils in the library.
The last Post and Reveille were played on the trumpet by S6 pupil Jenna Rowlands.
The school does not have its own war memorial but would very much like to construct one over the next few years.
