The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice for parts of Angus for this evening.
The north of Angus is most likely to be affected, with the Met Office warning of frequent sleet, snow and hail showers. The warning is in place from 8pm tonight (Monday) until 8am tomorrow morning.
The wintry weather is expected to affect northern Scotland for the rest of Monday and into Tuesday.
The weather warning adds: “While accumulations by day will be temporary and slushy away from the hills, snow showers will settle more readily later on Monday evening, overnight and early Tuesday. Five to 10 centimetres may accumulate on high level roads above 300m, with some drifting in strong to gale force northerly winds. One to three cm is likely at lower levels, mainly above 150m, though temporary slushy falls are possible even on the lowest ground. Icy stretches are an additional hazard in the clearer spells between the showers, mainly over higher routes.”
