BRECHIN'S winning streak came to an end last night after they lost at home to table-toppers Ross County.
The visitors, who are now 12 points clear at the top of the table, got off to a flying start when they netted in the opening minute.

A Dean Shields' pass caught City napping and Sean Higgins fired the ball home.

However, 10 minutes before the interval Brechin were level when a Scott Walker header hit the crossbar and Michael Payton pounced on the rebound to score.

The scores didn't remain level for long though, and five minutes into the second-half Ross County bagged what would prove to be the winner - Higgins completing his brace after connecting with an Andy Barrowman cross.

Brechin came close to a second leveller mid-way through the half when Darren Smith volleyed the ball towards the goal, but County's number one Allan Creer saved the effort.
