Brechin City are facing another postponed match in four days after a noon pitch inspection today (Tuesday) resulted in their league clash against Queen of the South being postponed.
The club have been facing a major battle with drainage problems effecting the playing surface. Despite the hard work put in by ground staff, the club have a back log of games to finish.
The club issues a statement on their website stating that “there is obvious concern and worry about the current condition of the Glebe Park pitch and the loss of income from Saturday fixtures.
“The Management Committee wish to apologise for any inconvenience caused as result of postponed fixtures.”
The statement also revealed that the committee has been seeking advice from a variety of sources - including drainage and groundcare specialist as well as local councillors - to try and solve the issue.
The statement continued to say that a “ground breaking tool” was used to on the pitch and that “all internal drains have been checked to ensure free flow.”
The club ended their statement by commenting: “All options will be fully considered in our efforts to take the most responsible action in the Clubs best interest.”
