Andy Jackson reckons Brechin City will have to be at their very best in every game if they want to continue their push towards promotion.
League One as ever is a division where teams will take points from everybody else, so it’s crucial that a side eyeing a spot in the Championship are fully committed to each fixture.
There certainly cannot be any doubts at the commitment of the City players though as Darren Dods’ men battled back from a Rory McAllister strike to defeat Peterhead 2-1.
Jackson was full of praise for his teammates’ character and spirit and said that’s the kind of thing you need in a squad in order to have any kind of success.
“The other two at the top have dropped points and it goes to show, everyone can beat everybody. You’re going to need to be on top of every game.
“Livi played well against us last week but I felt we should’ve taken something.
“I’m delighted with the start of the season. To go a goal down is a real test of character but I thought we did well, first half we were passing the ball well.
“We were unlucky to be going in at the break at 1-1. They’re a good team and you know what you’re getting from Rory - he’s a great player and he scores goals.
“Second half they pegged us in a bit and we started going long, which suited them a bit.
“But we stuck in and got the goal, then the defence and Buzz have kept us in it.
“A few boys were poor last season, myself included, but I’m feeling good this year and scoring goals.
“Hopefully that can continue and we stay up the top of the league.”
