Arbroath have confirmed their pre-season schedule ahead of their upcoming Scottish League Two campaign when player/manager Paul Sheerin will look to get the Red Lichties back to League One right away, writes Scott Binnie.

They begin on Saturday, June 28, when they host Aberdeen before they travel to face Stirling Albion on Thursday, July 10.

Brora Rangers will be at Gayfield Park on Saturday, July 12, before Arbroath play Forfar Athletic at home on Saturday, July 19.

Saturday fixtures kick off at 3 p.m. while the Thursday game is an evening kick-off, 7.30 p.m.

Sheerin this week confirmed the re-signing of full-back Johnny Lindsay just a few weeks after he originally released the defender, who made nine appearances last season.

Lindsay is likely to fill the gap at left-back left by the departure of Colin Hamilton to Angus rivals Brechin City.

The manager said: “Johnny has re-signed which is great as it rankled me a little bit letting him go. He didn’t play too much last season as we were probably a bit too over-reliant on Colin Hamilton and maybe he got a bit of a raw deal.”

Forfar Athletic Supporters’ Club is to hold their annual general meeting later this month. It will take place at Station Park on Thursday, June 26, from 7.30 p.m.

All supporters are encouraged to attend to elect the committee.

The Supporters Club plays a key role in fund-raising for the club and many volunteers also work on match days in the shop, selling programmes and 50/50 tickets etc.
