Brechin followed up last week’s effort with another solid win against St Andrews Colts in a match marred by the high winds blowing straight down the pitch at Park Road.
The Brechin boys opted to play against the wind in the first half and took the game to St Andrews right from the kick off.
St Andrews took the lead in 13 minutes – a mix up in defence allowed the St Andrews striker through to slot the ball past the outrushing Sim in the Brechin goal.
The balance of the first half was a drawn out battle in midfield with neither team gaining the advantage.
Brechin made two changes at half time – Church-Forbes and Duncan coming on to strengthen the defence.
Brechin, again, took the match to St Andrews and were rewarded with a corner. Walker flighted the ball in and Doans effort was picked up by Irvine who headed past the keeper.
Irvine scored his second in 33 minutes and five minutes later Doan was rewarded with a goal. This was another fine performance from the Brechin boys, the whole team working together to gain the victory.
