Both Brechin City and Airdrieonians managers declared themselves disappointed with Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Glebe Park.

However, City boss Ray McKinnon admitted is was perhaps a fair result.

Speaking after the game he said: “It wasn’t a great game to be fair. I don’t think both teams played particularly great football in the second half.

“We can play a lot better than that. I thought we saw wee flashes of what we could do.

“All in all a 1-1 draw was probably a fair result, but it was disappointing we never took the three points when we got ourselves in the lead.”

Speaking about the defensive blunder that lead to Brechin’s goal, Airdrie manager Gary Bollan said: “I thought we defended really well and it was going to take something like that to concede.”

He added: “I thought a point was the least we deserved to come away with today.

“I am disappointed to go away with just a point. I thought for large spell of the game we dominated.”

Brechin City were preparing to host Annan Athletic in the Scottish Cup fourth round replay last night (Tuesday), as the Brechin Advertiser went to print.

The winner of the tie will travel to face Falkirk in the next round.
