Brechin City welcomed Dundee to Glebe Park tonight (Wednesday) as part of their preseason campaign.
Both sides went in to the match fresh off the back of friendly wins - Brechin were 1-0 victors against Montrose while Dundee defeated English Premier League champions Manchester City 2-0.
Dundee dictated much of the first half, but couldn’t get a shot on target, with Peter McDonald and Nicholas Riley before putting the ball over the cross bar.
The visitors thought they got their break through in the final few minutes of the first half when a ball over the City defence found Philip Roberts who fired home, but he was deemed to be offside.
McDonald almost took the lead just moments later, but his well taken free kick from outside the box rattled the cross bar rather than finding the net.
There was little in the way of clear cut chances in the second half, with Dundee having a handful of opportunities going wide of the mark, or over the bar.
Alan Trouten almost netted a outrageous goal mid-way through the second half when he went to lob the Dundee keeper from the halfway line. The ball just had a bit too much on it as it cleared the cross bar, but fans applauded his effort nevertheless.
Despite some late chances for City in the closing minuets of the match, it ended 0-0.
