BRECHIN City have signed young Aberdeen striker, Mitchel Megginson, on-loan, initially until the end of this month.
Like a number of the SPL prospects Jim Weir has had at Glebe Park this season, Mitch spent some time playing under the City boss at Arbroath last season,
The 18 year-old made his Dons debut in August 2009 against Sigma Olomouc in the Europa League but ended the season on loan to Arbroath in Division Two.
He scored three goals in five appearances for the Red Lichties and three more for Scotland Under-17s. In November last year he was rewarded with a new two year contract at Pittodrie.
Megginson will undoubtedly add firepower to the City front line. And Jim Weir’s timing couldn’t be better, the side having failed to net in the last two Saturday league fixtures they have competed in. Megginson was expected to be in the squad for the visit of Dumbarton to Glebe Park on Tuesday evening (tonight).
