Brechin City manager Ray McKinnon said he was “ really proud” of his players after their 4-3 defeat at home to Rangers.
Brechin took a two-goal lead after just 10 minutes, and dominated the first half.
It took an 85th minute goal for the League One leaders to take the three points.
Speaking after the match, Mr McKinnon commented: “I thought we should have won the game. We created more chances. We had a few opportunities at 3-3 to win the game.
“They’ve scored three goals from crosses that weren’t defended. They were three hopeful balls in the box.
“We’ve got to take huge positives from the way we played. That was more like the Brechin I know.
“They passed the ball with confidence and I thought they showed great attitude to win the game. They had courage on the ball and, if anything, I think we passed the ball better.
“No disrespect to Rangers, but I think they must have played a 100 long balls to Daly and tried to play off him. That’s acceptable for them, but for me that’s not how you play.
“I was really proud of them today. Albeit, I’m very disappointed but I’m extremely positive about us going on.
“Man for man today, I think we were excellent. It was great to watch.”
