Brechin Vics maintained their place in the top half of the East Region North Division despite a 2-0 loss to Lochore Welfare.
Vics started off strongly and Sturrock came close with a 25 yard shot.
Lochore took the lead on 18 minutes though; Vics lost the ball in the middle of the park presenting Celentano with a chance and he sent an unstoppable shot from 22 yards high over Robbie.
Vics came back and Lewis was close with a shot but the keeper saved his effort.
The hosts fell further behind on 23 minutes when again they lost the ball in the middle of the park; the ball was played to McGuire on the right and he slammed the ball past Robbie from 16 yards.
Only a great diving save from Robbie kept Vics from falling even further behind minutes later.
There were chances for Lewis and McKay before the half drew to a close.
Vics’ Lewis came close again on 48 minute but his shot was saved by the keeper.
Strachan presented Lewis with another chance but this time he was wide of the target.
Vics kept pressing and had Lochore pinned back in their own half but were finding the defence a hard nut to crack, and when they did beat the defence the keeper was on hand to deal with any efforts on goal.
Cargill had an attempt but his shot was just wide of the goal.
S Eaton was next to have a shot but he screwed his angled drive wide of the post.
Vics dominated the final 20 minutes with crosses into the box but they were unable to find that elusive goal.
Their next game is at home to Blairgowrie on Saturday at 2.30 p.m. with admission ‘Pay What You Want’.
