Brechin Vics to stage sportsman’s dinner

Brechin Vics are holding a sportsman’s dinner at the Northern Hotel on Saturday, August 27.

Members of the Vics committee are delighted to announce that they have been able to secure three of the very best “after dinner speakers” for the evening.

John Stiles is returning to Brechin having visited the City in March to take in the Brechin v St Johnstone Scottish Cup tie.

John was a professional footballer which included five years with Leeds United. However, he will always be known as the son of World Cup winner “Nobby Stiles”.

John started working as an after dinner speaker and “master of ceremonies” which then developed into him turning to the world of comedy where he established himself as one of the most popular acts on the circuit.

John also prides himself on the fact that his act is very original and funny, with a great emphasis on voices and impressions which set him apart.

The second speaker will be Des McKeown, a retired Scottish footballer who has played for Airdrie, Albion Rovers, QOS, Partick Thistle, and Stenhousemuir, where he was also manager for a spell.

Des is also known as a BBC Scotland Sports pundit and has a column in the Scottish addition of The Sun newspaper.

The third speaker will be Comedian Joe Camay, who is regarded to be the best “after dinner comedian” and is therefore one of the most sought-after stand up comics on the circuit.

Joe’s fearless choice of material and unrivalled delivery ensures that he must be booked well in advance.

Ticket are being sold by booking a table of ten or by individual seats.

Tickets are priced at £30 each.
