Brechin strike late to snatch away win
Brechin City’s bid to push for a promotion play-off spot has been boosted in the past week.
Following a one-each draw at home to high flying Arbroath in midweek, the reds defeated Stirling Albion at the Forthbank Stadium on Saturday.
Two goals in four minutes late in the game turned the game against the Binos on its head.
Two late goals secured Brechin City victory at Stirling Albion in the Scottish Second Division.
The hosts opened the scoring on 33 minutes when Gary Thom’s cross converted by Mark Ferry at close range.
But Ferry scored an own goal eight minutes into the second half to level the scores, inadvertently putting Bryan Hodge’s corner past goalkeeper Callum Reidford.
Albion then benefited from an own goal as they regained the lead, with Brechin’s Paul McLean turning the ball into his own net after good play by Alan Cook.
But the visitors levelled again on 83 minutes, courtesy of a Bryan Hodge 30-yard drive.
And the winner came four minutes later, Rory McKenzie firing home after fastening on to a Hodge pass inside the area.

Brechin City - Scott, McLean, Dunlop, Buist, Hodge, Fusco (Lister), Brady, Moyes, Molloy, McKenzie and McManus (McKenna).
