Brechin Vics were sent out of the East of Scotland Cup after losing 5-0 to Broughty Athletic.
Vics fell behind in two minutes when McConnachie reacted quickest to slot the ball into an empty net.
Vics were finding it hard to create any chances and it was Broughty who again came close on 15 minutes when Cameron shot wide.
Broughty made it 2-0 on 20 minutes when Buchan was played in and he slotted past Robbie from 10 yards.
It took Vics until the 23rd minute for their first opportunity when Strachan had an attempt from 30 yards.
Broughty went three up on 26 minutes when Cameron slotted into the empty net again after Robbie had produced a diving save.
Robbie was again called into action on 40 minutes making a good save before Stephen blocked an effort on 42 minutes.
Vics opened the second half brightly and Black had a header saved by the keeper.
Broughty continued to press and increased their lead on 77 minutes when Buchan shot into the corner of the net from 20 yards.
The scoring was complete 10 minutes later when Buchan completed his hat-trick with a cut back.
Brechin play Arbroath Vics at home this weekend at 2pm.
