Brechin City manager Ray McKinnon has extended his contract at Glebe Park.

The club announced the deal on Wednesday afternoon, with details of the deal remaining confidential.

We have carefully built a squad capable of competing with the best in our league and possibly beyond.

Chairman Ken Ferguson told the club’s website: “I am delighted that Ray has signed new terms with us and that he continues to see his future at Brechin City. Ray and his coaching colleagues, Grant and Darren, are settled here with us and with 50 victories under their belt they are eager to bring more success to the club.”

McKinnon said: “Having joined Brechin City in October 2012 I am now pleased to renew my commitment to the club.

“We have carefully built a squad capable of competing with the best in our league and possibly beyond.

“As we go into the final stages of the season I wanted to show my commitment to the players that have got us where we are so far and to the club’s officials and supporters.”

City are just one point away from confirming their place in the promotion play-offs for this season after a fantastic season that saw them equal a long-standing record of unbeaten games.

It was arguably only a small player pool that cost City an extended challenge to the League One title as injuries began to pile up, but Ray will nonetheless strongly fancy his team’s chances in the play-offs.
