Brechin City completed their final pre-season friendly with a comprehensive victory over Pollock last week.
The junior side played hosts to Brechin in Glasgow, but were on the losing end of a six-nil scoreline, with two goals a piece from Paul McManus and Jim Lister, and Derek Carcary and Neil Janczyk both netting also.
It was Pollock who had the first opportunity in the game two minutes in, with former Brechin player Iain Diack seeing his shot fall just wide of the post.
Brechin were quick to respond, however, and scored a minute later. Carcary took the ball down the left wing and cut inside towards goal, before squaring the ball to McManus, who easily beat the Pollock keeper Morrison with a side-foot tap-in from less than five yards out.
Brechin continued to dominate in the early part of the game and Morrison, a former Brechin City player, did well to stop a shot from Carcary after nine minutes.
Pollock battled on against the second division side, pressurising the Brechin defence, with Scott blocking a Jamie Doyle drive.
Brechin scored their second three minutes before half time, however, with Carcary setting McManus up to slot home, again from just a few yards out.
The Glasgow team came out attacking in the second half and almost pulled a goal back in the 55th minute, when Lee Nicholl took the ball at the edge of the box and fired a shot which rebounded off the crossbar. Minutes later, at the other end, McManus should have made it three for Brechin, shooting wide from a good position.
In 65 minutes Brechin made it three-nil when Carcary volleyed a Dunlop cross into the net.
Janczyk, who was in fine form in midfield, scored Brechin’s fourth with a shot which curled past Morrison in the 79th minute.
Jim Lister came on for Charlie King in the 69th minute, and certainly made his mark on the game, scoring two close-range goals late on to end the scoring at six-nil to Brechin City.
