ANY aspirations Brechin City had of claiming a promotion play-off spot have all but gone following a defat at home to bottom side Stirling Albion.

Mark Ferry applied the finish to Graham Weir’s assist as the visitors went in front on 33 minutes.

David Crawford fouled Alan Cook inside the area to give Stirling a penalty but Cook’s effort flew wide.

But he atoned for that miss on 82 minutes, sweeping home Weir’s through ball.

Scott Buist pulled one back for Brechin but the visitors held on to win, leagving City hovering just above the relagation area.
