Longside had Culter as visitors on Saturday in the PMAC Superleague.
The visitors had Longside under pressure from the start and Black did well to head clear a Darren McAllister corner.
They broke the deadlock in the 6th minute when Taylor played the ball through to a suspiciously offside Jamie McAllister and he dispatched the ball past Duffy.
A McBain corner was headed wide by Wilson. Culter stretched their lead in 13 minutes when they were awarded a free kick just outside the box, McAllister drilled a stunning strike past Duffy the keeper getting a hand to the ball but was unable to keep it out.
The home side made an enforced change in 15 minutes with Cardno being replaced by Little. Youngson fired a 20 yard free kick over the bar. Longside pulled a goal back in the 25th minute when a Porter corner was headed home by Euan Little.
Walker picked up the ball on the left in 41 minutes before finding Little just outside the box and he scored with a tremendous shot into the roof of the net.
Two minutes later the home side took the lead when a mix-up in the Culter defence allowed Little to nip in and score his hat trick.
The Longside cause was dealt a blow two minutes into the second half when McAllister picked up the ball on the halfway line before racing through and firing the ball past Duffy. Taylor broke clear on the right but his cross was well saved by Duffy.
At the other end a great shot from Walker was spilled by Farquhar but Porter following up couldn’t put the ball in the net and had to off to be replaced by Whyte.
Longside were awarded a free kick 30 yards out, Craik drove his strike over the bar. Little did well when he got to the byeline but his cross found no takers and the danger was cleared.
McBain cut in from the right but he dragged his shot wide. Walker went off for Longside to be replaced by Butcher. Culter hit Longside in the counter attack when Robertson sent McBain clear but his shot was brilliantly saved by Duffy.
With two minutes remaining disaster for Longside saw the referee point to the spot following a corner with surprisingly no claims coming from the visitors, George McBain made no mistake to give his side all three points.
This was a disappointing result for Longside who probably deserved a point for their efforts but proves you can’t give a team of Culter’s quality two goals of a start.
Euan Little was Longside’s top performer and took his three goals well and turned in a five star display.
Longside are away to Bishopmill United at Elgin this Saturday in the first round of the Emirates Scottish Junior cup (kick-off 2.30pm).
