Brechin Vics ended their season with a 3-1 defeat, following their midweek clash against promotion chasing Downfield.
Brechin Vics travelled to take on the side on Wednesday, May 7, on the back of a thrilling victory over Coupar Angus.
Vics were the better of the two sides during the opening 45 minutes, but couldn’t make the dominance count.
Downfield took a surprising lead, but Andy Ferguson scored equalised to make it 1-1 at halftime.
The second half was edged by Downfield and they scored two further goals without reply to complete a score line which slightly flattered them.
A spokesperson for the club said: “Brechin Vics player/manager, Charlie King, is happy with the progress made by the squad and is looking forward to the new season with anticipation and confidence.”
Taking to the club’s official Twitter account, @BrechinV, Mr King added:“For me a relatively good season, most goals scored for a number of years, most points accumulated, equalled wins and generally good football.”
Vics ended the season the 13th position in the Scottish Junior Football East Region North Division. Out of their 30 games, they took 27 points.
Vics also held their annual barbecue and presentation evening at Victoria Park on Saturday, May 10.
