Darren Dods has asked his players for more of the same in the next fortnight after they thrashed Peterhead 5-1.
Brechin City were in sublime form to batter the Blue Toon on Saturday, and move two points clear of Forfar Athletic into ninth in the process.
Robert Thomson got a stunning hat-trick while Andy Jackson and Liam Watt added the team’s other goals.
It extends the club’s stunning run of form to six wins out of eight and Dods admitted he’s frustrated with those two defeats - to Dunfermline and Cowdenbeath - because his players were desperately unfortunate not to take anything from either clash.
The manager said: “We started the game really well, we played well with the wind behind us and got ourselves on top.
“It was disappointing the way they scored, the boy running through from right back, but we would have crumbled earlier in the season and we didn’t.
“With Andy Jackson, Robert Thompson, Liam Coogans coming on and the threat we’ve got from midfield, we’ve hit form at the right time. The other results with Forfar and Stenhousemuir losing are good for us.
“We’ve been on a great run and I think that’s five home wins in a row.
“We’ve got six wins out of eight but the disappointing thing is those two games, we were unfortunate at Dunfermline and at Cowdenbeath.
“We’ve got a strong squad and everybody is back fit now, players will have to keep working hard to keep their place in the team because people are pushing hard.
“We need to keep it going for our next two games.”
